ENGAGEMENT SESSION LOCATIONS IN SHENANDOAH VALLEY | CHARLOTTESVILLE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
The number one question I get asked is, “Where should we take our engagement photos?” Hey, I get it. You have to pick out your clothes (and your partner's clothes), your hairstyle, and whether or not you want to bring the dog (which you should always do, by the way!). Regardless, I wanted to share a few of my favorite spots, and give you suggestions of places to think about
1. Where You Two Met
More often than not, most couples truly cherish the place where they met, and that is always my number one suggestion. We can recreate your first date and you two can be my tour guide for an hour and a half. Most importantly, this is the place where you two feel incredibly comfortable, and that really carries through in photos.
2. Your Wedding Venue
Wish you could take engagement photos that reflected all the beauty that your wedding day is going to be? Guess what - you totally can! Almost all venues that I have worked with allow their couples to shoot their engagement photos on their property. This is awesome for a number of reasons, but mostly, it allows your photographer to get to know your venue before the big day, making the wedding photos stress-free!
3. Local Vineyard
I shot one of my favorite engagement sessions last fall at Cross Keys Vineyard, and I will let the beauty that is Cross Keys speak for itself! There are so many vineyards and wineries in and around Charlottesville and Harrisonburg, and many of them will let us shoot your engagement photos there!
4. Mountain Overlook
I think I sometimes take for granted the beauty that surrounds us every day. We are blessed to be surrounded with gorgeous mountain views, and capturing that is one of my favorite things to do. There are a few awesome overlooks that I recommend: Big Meadows, Bear’s Den, and Raven’s Roost.
5. Coffee Shop + Downtown Urban Area
Okay, this is more of a wish list request, but it would be PERFECT! The Farmhaus in downtown Waynesboro has already given me permission to shoot in their store, and really, how much cozier can you get? Just some coffee, your favorite person, a book, and a cozy blanket. Oh, and me being an awkward third wheel. It would be so cute! Below is just an adorable photo reminding you to please bring your dog to your engagement session ;)
